Civic Engagement & Transparency

Written & Virtual Public Comment Options

Current process allows public comment in person at city council meetings.  Those meetings happen when many Bexley families are busy with family time or putting younger children to bed.  Written & Virtual public comment options allow for community input without requiring such a significant commitment of time from residents.

Actively Seeking Diverse Perspectives for Better Decisions

One of the great things about Bexley is our diverse population with all sorts of different backgrounds, work & educational experience, and political perspectives.  If we are going to create the most effective policies and legislation, we need to be listening to and seeking out different perspectives.

Expanded Advance Notice & Messaging

City council publishes agendas in advance of its meetings and notifies the public of some of the upcoming issues through the Bexley Blast.  Often those agendas are not ready by Friday when the Bexley Blast goes out.  This means that residents click on the links for city council matters waste their time because there is nothing to follow up on.  Agendas need to be published by mid-day on Fridays to eliminate this problem.
